Analyzing Documents: The Hagia Sophia interpreted by Professor Lawrence Butler

-Kristen Korfitzen

The Center for History and New Media at George Mason featured our very own Professor Lawrence Butler on their series Analyzing Documents where he talks about one of his favorite objects, the Hagia Sophia!

If you’ve ever taken a class with him, you’ll know that he’s an expert on this particular building. In the feature Professor Butler talks about how he was first introduced to the Hagia Sophia, how he approaches the building as an object of analyzation, and how he approaches teaching the building in a lecture.

If you haven’t heard Professor Butler speak on the Hagia Sophia, do yourself a favor and check out Analyzing Documents. You can hear his segment here.
